Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 18, 2026 | Effective immediately
Zero Tracking • No Login • Absolute Privacy
Web Online Notepad is designed from the ground up to respect your privacy. We do NOT collect, store, or share any personal information. Your notes remain yours — always.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Web Online Notepad (the "best free notepad without login"). This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use our online text editor, note-taking website, and sharing features (QR code & 6-digit access code).

Key principle: We believe in privacy by default. You do not need to create an account, provide an email, or submit any personal details. Our service works 100% locally in your browser with zero tracking.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect absolutely no personal data. Unlike traditional notepad apps or online tools, we do not:

  • Require login or registration
  • Store your notes on our servers
  • Use tracking cookies, analytics (Google Analytics, etc.), or fingerprinting
  • Collect IP addresses, browser data, or device information
  • Share or sell any information with third parties

What about auto-save? The auto-save feature stores your note only on your own device using your browser's localStorage. This is a local storage mechanism — we never have access to that data. You can clear it anytime by clearing your browser data.

3. QR Code & 6-Digit Code Sharing

Our sharing features (QR code and 6-digit access code) are designed with privacy in mind:

  • No central server storage: The shared note content is not uploaded to our servers. In the demo or actual implementation, notes are stored temporarily in your browser's memory/localStorage and never transmitted to us.
  • 6-digit code: This is generated client-side. No database records your codes or notes. If you share a code, the recipient's browser directly reads the note from your local storage simulation — or in a fully offline-capable version, via peer mechanisms.
  • QR code: Encodes note preview information locally. We do not track scans.

Important: When you share a note via a 6-digit code, you are responsible for securely sharing that code. We never log or store the note content or the code. For true end-to-end privacy, treat the access code like a key.

4. Local Storage & Auto-Save

Web Online Notepad uses your browser's localStorage to provide auto-save functionality. This means:

  • Your note is saved locally on your computer, phone, or tablet.
  • We never read, access, or transmit your saved notes to any external server.
  • You can manually delete saved notes by clearing your browser's site data or using the "clear" option (if implemented).
  • No cookies are used for tracking — only essential local storage for your convenience.
Your control: You can disable localStorage via browser settings, but auto-save will stop working. The core editing experience remains functional.

5. Third-Party Services & Links

Our notepad does not integrate any external analytics, advertising networks, or tracking scripts. However, the download feature (PDF, Word, HTML, MD) uses client-side libraries (html2pdf, FileSaver) that run entirely in your browser. These libraries do not send data externally.

We do not include social media buttons, tracking pixels, or any form of external content that could compromise your privacy.

Fonts & Icons: We use Google Fonts and FontAwesome CDN. Those CDN providers may log standard HTTP requests (IP, user agent) according to their own policies. However, we do not control or have access to that data. For maximum privacy, you can use browser extensions to block CDN requests, but the page may not render correctly.

6. Children's Privacy

Our service is suitable for all ages. Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no risk of collecting information from children under 13. Parents and teachers can confidently recommend Web Online Notepad as a safe online writing pad and note-taking tool.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Because we do not store any data on our servers, there is no data retention policy required from our side. Your locally saved notes remain until you:

  • Clear your browser cache/localStorage.
  • Uninstall/delete browser data manually.
  • Use the browser's "Clear site data" option.

We cannot access or recover your notes. You are solely responsible for backing up important notes via our export options (PDF, Word, HTML, MD).

8. Security Measures

Even though we collect no data, we still prioritize security:

  • Our website is served over HTTPS (encrypted connection) to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks.
  • No external scripts that could inject malicious code.
  • Content Security Policy (CSP) headers are used to restrict unauthorized resource loading.
  • We regularly update dependencies to avoid known vulnerabilities.

However, no online platform is 100% immune. We recommend using updated browsers and avoiding sharing sensitive information via any online notepad if you have extreme security requirements.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect improvements or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Since we do not collect user emails, we cannot notify you individually — please review periodically.

We will never change our core commitment: zero tracking, no login, and no data collection.
